Urban Research Initiative

The Urban Research Initiative at Paul Quinn College connects researchers generating data and analysis on the most difficult urban problems with students, grassroots groups, elected officials, and others in need of trustworthy data and analysis. To this end, the initiative elicits course proposals and creates research partnerships with interdisciplinary experts working on the key components of urban resilience: public health, environmental quality, political and cultural self-determination, and equitable economic growth.

The Initiative plans to release a series of reports on air pollution in urban areas in Texas in 2020. We welcome requests for project teams and institutional partners across the state. Additional proposals for collaborative research projects from urban centers in Texas and beyond in the component areas are also welcome. Please contact the Office of Academic Affairs at cdowdy@pqc.edu for more information.
